GRADE 7/8 BAND MUSIC FEST 7/8 BAND MUSIC FEST
Our Grade 7/8 Band had a successful performance at the Music Fest Canada, Collingwood Regional Festival last Thursday. The Band was adjudicated and received a HIGH SILVER Standing and was invited to play at the National Music Festival in Niagara Falls this coming May where they will represent their school and the Town of Wasaga Beach. It is a great accomplishment for an elementary school band to earn the chance to perform and represent Simcoe County at the National level. It is also an amazing opportunity for these intermediate students, many of whom will continue on over the next several years in the instrumental music program at CCI. Of course, going to such a prestigious festival comes with financial costs. Costs associated with the entry fee, accommodations and transportation will need to be raised. The Band is looking for sponsors or personal donations as well as local businesses and organizations to help make this opportunity more affordable for the students involved. It is our hope that we are able attend and perform for adjudicators along with the many other successful Elementary and High School bands across our country. All thirty of our dedicated band members deserve to go to Nationals and they will be doing everything they can to fundraise as well. It would be an experience they will remember always.
